Check-in Details

Check in is between 16.00 and 19.00hrs (4.00pm to 7.00pm) unless by prior arrangement.
(For guests attending weddings etc. we can usually arrange for you to be able to change and store your luggage - Please request at time of booking)

Check out is by 10.00am on your day of departure. Luggage storage is available.


A deposit of £25.00 per room per night will be requested at the time of booking for the B&B and 50% of the total cost for the Self-catering apartment.

Payment Options

All major debit and credit cards are accepted and can be made through paypal (note you do not need a paypal account to pay using a credit card) 


Cancellation and Refund Policy

When we take your booking we are agreeing to reserve the room or rooms for you, to the exclusion of all others, for the dates you request. In return we rely on guests who have made bookings in advance to give us fair notice of cancellation.

We ask that cancellations are made as soon as possible and preferably by the person who made the original booking. Cancellations can be made by telephone but must always be confirmed in writing, by e-mail letter, or through your booking website

Please note that no refunds are given in the event of early check outs and the full amount of the original booking remains payable.

We will make every effort to re-sell the accommodation booked and refund your deposit, however if this is unsuccessful, the following will apply:

For cancellations made 7 days or more prior to the date of arrival, 100%  of the first night will be charged .

If cancellation is made less than 7 days prior to the date of arrival the full amount of the original booking will be charged to the credit card used to secure the booking.

These terms are only applicable for reservations made directly through our own website or by phone/in person.  Any reservations made through a third party (such as booking.com, Late Rooms, Trip Advisor, Visit Scotland) will adhere to the cancellation policy published on that site.

Non Cancellation or Guest not Arriving

Guests failing to notify us of a cancellation or not arriving on the due date will incur a charge equal to the full cost of the original booking. This will be charged to the credit card used to secure the booking.

Guests making a booking with us shall imply their acceptance of these cancellation terms.

Any refund of deposit will incur a small administrative charge to cover Debit/Credit Card or PayPal fees.

Smoking Policy

To comply with current Scottish legislation smoking is NOT permitted anywhere within Galvelbeg House.  Smoking areas are provided outside.


We appreciate that as in any home sometimes breakages occur, however so that other guests are not put out we would ask that you let us know of any damage so that we can repair or replace the items.  Thank you




We advise guests to consider taking out relevant travel Insurance to cover costs incurred due to late cancellation.


Regrettably, we do not allow Pets
